FlumeAward – Shiver
Discussion page for Shiver.
I am surprised that more of our teenage readers have not read this book…a well-written and logical presentation of an "illogical" subject, full of human interest and frightening occurrences. Readers who enjoyed Twilight should enjoy this story, both male and female. Perhaps it did not get the full advertising coverage that the vampire series did and should be promoted more by our young adult librarians. I agree that it is a keeper and should be nominated for the Flume Award. Donna/Colebrook Public Library
One of my more intellectual and still caught in teenage reading kids made me promise to read Shiver. I did. I shivered and fell in love with the kids. The grown-ups I could do without.
A lovely little tale of a werewolf and human pairing with all the ensuing problems. The writing is poetic and the story pulls you along. I certainly am awaiting the sequel…this is a keeper! Amy Inglis, Barrington
Written very well and told from both male and female perspectives, this book has the Twilight flavor but is written better and much more interesting. Yay to strong female characters. I look forward to the sequel. I think this should be on the list.
