Agatha Christie fans will recognize this story. Teens will appreciate the horror and fast pace (adults might find the teen plot a bit irritating unless they like series like Gossip Girl and the A List and Pretty Little Liars). This fast paced novel is definitely not a "clean" book, but what can you expect when 10 high school students are on an island with no parents? It was written well for its type of book. As I read, I felt like I was watching a slasher/horror movie that I had seen before. Originality? No. Heart pounding? Sure. Should it be on the Flume list? My vote is no. I feel that there are better suspense/thriller novels out there than this. -Aubrey, Goodwin Library
While this book does keep the reader turning pages, it is meh. There were so many times that I just wanted to throw up my hands in disbelief. There have to be better choices than this one. Sharon Flesher – Nashua High South
Predictable in the way that it’s clearly modeled after Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None, and so I knew kids were going to be dropping like flies, and that there’d be a red herring death. It was still horrifying.
