FlumeAward – The Name of the Star //Name of the Star// by Maureen Johnson
This would be a great book for the Flume list! Set in modern day London, it has wonderful historical references and, at the same time, is an intriguing ghost story. It will appeal to both boys and girls as well.

I really like this book. It appeals to a variety of students, is well written, and bridges many genres – ghost story/horror, murdery mystery, historical fiction.

I agree, this book would be great for the list.
This book was insanely well-written in every aspect. I never knew what was going to happen next. Maureen added so many elements that I would have never expected. The tale of Jack the Ripper is one that has fascinated many people for decades and it is a fascinating tale. There is so much unknown in the case(s) that it really leaves it open to speculation and people love to speculate. Maureen really did an amazing job with this novel and the characters.

I thought this was a fantastic book and would appeal to a lot of different tastes. I was also completely surprised by the multiple plot twists. Maureen’s books are also funny and full of great characters, and this one is no exception. Caitlin Andrews, Bedford Public Library
Loved this book! Great modern story with flashbacks to the days of Jack the Ripper. My girl teens who are into ghost stories really enjoyed this book.
