FlumeAward – The Sharp Time //The Sharp Time// by Mary O’Connell
After reading the inside jacket of this book, I had really high hopes for it. However, I had to make myself finish it. With the loss of her mother, Sandinista isolated herself from school and her friends, finding a job in a quirky second hand clothing shop. The book also touches on the lack of the school system to recognize her despair and get her the help she needs. There is a monk that comes and goes throughout the story. If there is a religious significance, I missed it. I truly have nothing further to say about this book except that I found it very uninteresting and would not recommend it.
