FlumeAward – Unspoken Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan
Her Demon’s Lexicon was on the list a few years back. (maybe it was the Teen Top Ten list?) This book has all the elements that are popular right now – romance, fantasy/supernatural, intrigue/death.

I really liked both the premise of Kami and Jared being able to communicate telepathically, and of an English village both protected and terrorized by a possibly magical family.
It’s disappointing that things aren’t resolved in this book, since I really want to know what happens, but I will not be sorry at all to spend more time in this world.
Because of the subject matter, this will appeal mostly to female young adults, but because it’s a gripping story, boys convinced to read it will enjoy it, too.
