FlumeAward – Wizard Heir Discussion page for Wizard Heir.
Scott Campbell, Director, Langdon Library, Newington: I’m one of those elusive male librarians (or "guybrarians" if you will). I haven’t read this one myself but I have a built-in tween/teen advisory board at home: my daughter Erin, a very advanced reader, is 13. My step-son Tommy, a voracious reader, is 14. (Yes, I know, feel my pain, and no, they do not get along.) Anyway Wizard Heir and the following 2 Heir books knocked Tommy out. He’s also excited about Williams’ new series, which just came out: Demon King.
A fantasy adventure that kept me reading. Several exciting plots and although the basic ending was rather predictable, the foreshadowing made me want to read the next one. I did not read the Warrior Heir (the first book), so this can definitely be a stand alone book. I think it would appeal more to guys than girls. Well written and I would keep it on the list. (My 14 year old son also liked it.) Karen/Nesmith
