- I think this book was on the Flume list last year (I may have commented then, too). I think this series is great, although I really think that only City of Bones is a stand-alone. I think it would appeal to both boys and girls. - Exciting series; I agree City of Bones needs to be read first. Very popular for both males and females. If the first in the series has already been on the list, can it be repeated? It’s a shame to drop a whole series, if it is good, just because the first book didn’t win. -Beth Strauss, Pelham, NH
