FlumeAward – Daniel X Alien Hunter Discussion page for Daniel X: Alien Hunter.
This is actually quite fun, and it’s a book that both genders can enjoy. The humor is fun and it’s fast paced. It’s not great writing, but the kids like it, and it feels like you are watching a movie when you read it.

I agree. I prefer this to Unknown soldier which was extremely violent. I am not sure which one would have widest appeal in our High School audience?

Daniel X: Alien Hunter is the graphic novel version of The Dangerous Days of Daniel X (from what I can tell from reviews- we own the latter but not the graphic novel). These are good "trojan horse" books- an accessible book for reluctant readers, lots of action, looks like a big read but goes by quickly. You may feel like you’ve read it all before, but it’s fun anyway. The graphic novel seems to be for Grade 5 and up. Perhaps these titles could actually go on the list together if Daniel X is chosen for the final list? Beth Strauss, Pelham High School
