SO MUCH YES! This was my absolute favorite book of 2013. Rainbow Rowell is brilliant. I would love to see this lovely book in the top ten. Like Kelly said, it touches on a lot of current topics that teens can get behind. A truly memorable read. -Britt – HML
I loved this book so much and so did my teens. They’re really into fanfiction, so in particular that angle appealed, but I think the characters in general were very relateable. I think this would make an excellent addition to the list.

Cather and Wren are twins going off to college. They’ve always shared everything, down to Cather’s fanfic writing about the cult phenomenon Simon Snow (think Harry Potter in magnitude and magical boarding school subject matter). Wren has announced that she will not be living with Cather at school. This is Cather’s story.
I loved this story. It made me relive my college freshman days (although there were obvious differences). Rowell painted the picture of college life, classes, feuding siblings, roommates, love/crushes, concern for parents, etc. impeccably. I was sad to leave the story behind.
