FlumeAward – Ghost in the wires Ghost in the wires : my adventures as the world’s most wanted hackerby Kevin Mitnick
Nonfiction and not written as YA. I found it interesting. In a way, it’s sort of a history of the communications and computer industry, from the point of view of a hacker. That said, I can’t see it having widespread appeal to teens. They’d sort of have to be computer geeks who like nonfiction and memoirs. – Julie @ Nashua PL
Mitnick’s autobiography follows his computer hacking career and obsession or addiction from his high school days, through his brushes with the law, into prison, and finally to his consulting a speaking business. Mitnick claims to have hacked for the enjoyment of hacking, coming up with the next “prize” without wanting to cash in on any of his stunts. The book was interesting only getting lost in the detail of hacking occasionally. Nice nonfiction selection. Sharon Flesher-Duffy, Nashua High South
