I recently overheard one of my students describe this series as "Sort of like Angus, Thongs… funny, but the main character is really nice – you would want to be her friend. The Georgia Nicolson books are funny too, but you wouldn’t want her for a friend." I agree.

Wasn’t sure I was going to invest in another "Angus, Thongs…" style story but found myself really engaged with the main character. Despite it’s placement midway in the series it defintely stands alone and I think readers will relate to Jess and her worries and concerns over friends and family and school.
