FlumeAward – Half Bad Half Bad by Sally Green

I haven’t read this yet, but just for your amusement, I’ll share one of my Teen Advisory Group member’s review: "Half Bad? Try ALL BAD." – Liz, Merrimack PL 1/21/16

Not for younger readers, this is definitely a teen story (which is why it won’t garner the number of readers that HP did because that series nabbed readers from elementary to adulthood). Want to read about good vs. evil witches? It’s here. Want to read about families split apart because of decisions their parents make? it’s here. Want to read about forbidden love? It’s here. Want magic, danger, pain and suffering, and a teen seeking to find his place in the world? It’s here. It might sound as if the author has taken all the elements of HP and changed them a bit, but this is truly a story unto itself. I gobbled the book up in one sitting, spellbound by the characters and Nathan’s journey. I didn’t like the second in the series. Not a lot of students have read this at my school since it came out (maybe 8 -10), but those who have read it really like it.
