Teens are reading this because of the popularity of the author’s book If I Stay (which the recent movie made the book popular even more). This is okay, but it feels like one of those old after school TV specials of my youth. I guess I am hesitant about the book because I feel like it’s a YA version of Eat, Pray, Love in that the protagonist’s self discovery (and that the premise of the book) is all based on a a guy she spent one day with. Reminds me of the movie Before Sunrise (without the steaminess).
