Perfect Chemistry is a story about soul mates and the challenges involved in a relationship involving people of different races/social class. The story incorporates important issues such as being true to yourself even when losing everything is at stake, living with a sibling who is "different", true love doesn’t involve peer pressure and sometimes good kids do bad things.The book has female teen appeal but is not worthy of a nomination.

This book has been on our nomination list before. I read it when we discussed before. It is a teen romance that touches on bigger issues. I don’t really believe that it isn’t worthy of a nomination. It is as good as many of the other books that we will consider but in the end it might not be good enough. It is obviously popular.
