To fully understand this book, Wicked Lovely should be read first. I might get this wrong, (because i read Wicked Lovely and Tithe at the same time) but in my opinion this isnt a detached novel branching from Wicked Lovely, it is its sequel. The summer king, Keenan and queen, Aislinn and Seth all have a big part in the book, but less so than Niall, the summer kings uncle, who Leslie, the main character has a crush on, but instead unknowingly she gets a tattoo with the dark kings blood in it, Irial, and they become "attached." You would expect this to be the regular black vs. white novel. Irial being bad and Niall being good, but it isnt. Every character is seen in the good and bad light, so you cant really justify hating Irial. Its amazing.

I agree, you definitely need to read Wicked Lovely first. It is not a stand alone, despite being a good read. Danielle, Chesley Memorial, Northwood
