I found this a complete bore. I tried to listen on audio and just wanted the author to get to the point. Slow and cumbersome. I haven’t any kids asking for the sequel (which is out)…which tells me they didn’t like the first one enough to continue reading the series.

I will have to disagree about this being boring. I thought it was a thoughtful novel that many of our readers enjoyed. We have gotten all three books because our kids really enjoy them and we have also started getting them on audio. I do have to agree that these mostly appeal to the younger ages though moreso than the older kids. These books do not inclide enough social issues or fantasy to be a big hit with teens. -B.Moore Hall Memorial Library
