A sweeping and beautiful tale – would be a wonderful "adult" title for teens – but I agree with Mary – may be too daunting in terms of size. Still, this book has nudged another title from my top three books of all time. Not to be missed! Especially poignant for dog lovers (see Janet’s comment!!)

This one was great ( I loved it although our book group was split…half HATED it) but my adult readers struggled to get through it…not sure how many kids will stick with it through the middle which is a bit slow. Possibly other adult titles with more appeal that could be added? – Amy Inglis, Barrington
I think that I would have been with the half of the group that hated this book. The first half was fine, but then it took a turn and the ghosty stuff came into the story and just turned me off. I think that the story wouldn’t appeal to kids who like realistic fiction because of the other worldliness of the second half, and wouldn’t appeal to kids who like ghost stories because there isn’t enough of that here either. This wouldn’t be my choice for the reading list – although it was on our summer reading list as a "teacher pick" last summer. Sharon Flesher, Nashua High South
I enjoyed this retelling of Hamlet, but I don’t believe that teens will invest the time to read this LONG book.

I liked this novel in the beginning, but the ending made me tear my hair out. I think this book is TOO LONG to end up being disappointed.
