I then realized this is a second book in a series. I have handed it off to my 18 year old daughter to see if it is my bias or not. To be fair, I didn&#8217;t read all that much. I will update this post when my daughter finishes.<\/p>\n<p>Update: My daughter read this book and says it can stand alone. She says it is somewhat predictable, but it was appealing enough for her to read the next in the series. I will say this series flies off the shelves here.<br \/>~Kathy Watson, Kimball Library<\/p>\n<p>I read the first book in this series and that was enough to make me not want to read the second. The narrator&#8217;s voice and the language were a bit shocking since I&#8217;d thought of this as a &quot;Twilight readalike.&quot; However, this series is incredibly popular in my library.<br \/>&#8211;Katie Spofford, Wadleigh Memorial Library (Milford, NH)<\/p>\n<p>After reading 45 pages or so, I&#8217;m not interested in continuing. The writing is poor, and I&#8217;m not interested in the subject.
