Keene High School, 2/9/12

I felt it was all about addiction and owning our own pain and feelings. In a world where there is a pill to erase every ill, this is a good message. Good message aside, it is a fun story and unlike other books that I have read. It has something for everyone. And honestly, the "vocabulary curse" or "power word" thing is a riot.
Sharon Flesher-Duffy, Nashua High South

I loved this book! Each chapter title is a vocabulary word, there are literary references throughout, it has poetry, it’s told from four different perspectives and both boys and girls will like it. And I agree with Sharon about the book’s message and about its uniqueness.
Heidi Grant, Nashua High School North, 3/29/13

FlumeAward – Bruiser Discussion page for //Bruiser// by Neal Shusterman We need books for boys, and this one will work.
