From the listener’s point of view, the reader was good, not great. (It wasn’t the reader that kept me hooked to this audiobook.) Lockdown is about a teenage thief, Alex Sawyer, who is set up for murder and sent to the worst possible prison imaginable. It could be me, but I like my characters to be sympathetic, so warming up to a teen thief and bully took some work on my part. However, within a few chapters we see the better side of Alex and I was able to connect with the character. The book was quite the thrill ride and I cannot wait to get my hands on the second in the series. It’d be a stretch to compare Lockdown to Hunger Games, but if you liked the thrill of Hunger Games give Lockdown a try. -Bobbi Slossar

FlumeAward – Lockdown Escape from Furnace Discussion page for Lockdown: Escape from Furnace.
