Of course this wasn’t quite as good asTwilight – I felt like the main character Zara was a bit uneven at times (starting the book she’s supposed to be extremely depressed over the death of her stepfather, but she comes across as very sarcastic and quirky almost immediately), and I also thought the leap from "There’s a guy stalking me" to "My stalker is a pixie" was a bit abrupt. But I did like the romance between Zara and Nick, and the whole phobia-collecting thing was really interesting. Also, unlike Bella ofTwilight, Zara is a bit more proactive and a little less damsel in distress, which I liked. – Katie Spofford, Wadleigh Memorial Library, Milford NH

Certainly a Twlight clone but without the hook that book had…characters were a bit flat and I didn’t really care if I read book number two. Not a great choice. -Amy Inglis Barrington

Had the same thought about this book being a cheap Twilight knock-off. I couldn’t help comparing it to Twilight as I was reading, which made it difficult to enjoy on its own. There were some parts I just had trouble buying into. Karen, Nesmith Library

Just thought I should add, the author lives in Maine but grew up in Bedford, NH, so the New Hampshire author thing might have some appeal. This series has circulated steadily here. – Katie Spofford, Wadleigh Memorial Library

Just got the series, and it’s being read by many. I didn’t feel as if it was written that well, and it didn’t hold my interest much, but teens who like fantasy, might like this.
Kelly Budd
Keene High School

FlumeAward – Need Discussion page for Need by Carrie Jones There were certainly similarities to Twilight – girl moves unwillingly to an unpleasant climate to live with an estranged relative, …

[28

post-2337","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-flume-award-titles
["GET
