The best part of this book, for me, is that it focuses on how friendship can save you. I also thought that Ames and his scenes were invested with uber-creepiness, super skin-crawling but subtly so. Not sure how it compares to the rest of her work as it’s the first I’ve read, but I give it an A. – Liz, Merrimack PL

There is a reason why so many teens love Sarah Dessen. Her YA books explore a variety of topics in a realistic fiction genre. Many are lighthearted despite sad situations, but this one is darker and deeper. It’s not depressing, but it is honest, and that honesty is painful sometimes. Yes, there are some silly scenes and over the top teen antics and some parental actions that are hard to fathom, but this story plumbs the depths of friendship, sibling and family dynamics, and guilt. I’ve read all of her books, and I think this is my favorite.
Kelly Budd, Keene High School

FlumeAward – Saint Anything Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen This is a pretty good book, great for the Jenny Han reader (and obviously Dessen fans).
