I’d vote to remove this one due to its sequel status.
Lisa Houde / Rye Public Library

I like this book and this series, but the first is currently on the Flume 2014 list. I hate to see one of the ten slots taken up by a book/title/author/series that has already received attention from Flume and which students are already reading. I vote no. Kelly Budd, Keene High

I don’t see how this could be a stand-alone, as it picks up right after the end of the first book. – Liz, Merrimack PL

My tolerance for reading books out of sequence is really low, but I still don’t think this would be a stand-alone for someone whose tolerance for that sort of stuff is high. Also, this book is a LOT WORSE than the first one. I gave it 3 stars, but I think I was probably generous. Here’s my entire Goodreads review:
"Minus one star for the idea that a toxin that produces bloodlust and rage and makes people murder other people in horrific ways can, in a slightly smaller dose, lead them to have sex. That’s.. just… not.. no.

The climactic scene was also forced and gimmicky. Which probably accounts for at least half a star."
— Julie A.
