The premise hooked me, and the central family is loving and lovable. The love triangle isn’t aggravating here (as a romance, it makes sense to have one)(though I had a clear first choice contender) and all of Lara Jean’s "boys she’s loved before" are fun lot. Quirky secondary characters, and the family story is just as (maybe more so) compelling than the romance. I think this would be a better fit for the Isinglass (it’s rare to have such a tender/chemistry-laden romance that still fits the age group), but I have no doubt that high schoolers would love it too. I think this would be a great fit for the final list if we are looking for a romance title (plus, We Need Diverse Books, yay!). – Liz, Merrimack PL

I have not read this book but Jenny Han’s books have become a big hit at SHS. – Rachel Hopkins

I liked the premise of the story very much, and enjoyed getting to know the characters. I agree with Liz that the family is far more interesting than the romance. All of the characters are pretty decent people, which I appreciate. I think it is a contender for the list. Sophie Smith, Nashua Public Library.

More than just alove story, this is a tale of a quirky, loving family and of their intricate dynamics. It’s a coming-of-age story where Lara Jean finds herself taking care of her family and being the proactive one for the first time in her life – and learning about her own potential in the process. The Coveys are not a perfect family on the outside, but they most certainly are just that in their hearts, and when it counts.

This is a bit of cliffhanger in an uplifting contemporary novel, and I plan to read the sequel. I recommend for Flume because we don’t often have a romance. Sorry boys, this book is not for you. I don’t mind letting my bias shine–this was a fun girly book to read! ~Kathy Watson, Kimball Library (Atkinson)

FlumeAward – To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han Lovely, adorable read.
