We will use this page to discuss the nominations for the Flume and Isinglass Awards. This is the &quot;long list&quot; from which the Flume\/Isinglass Committee will select the final 10 nominees for each award, which teens will vote on. The selection for the final 10 happens at the Flume\/Isinglass Committee spring meeting, the date of which is posted to the YALS-L, NHSLMA-L, and CHILIS-L email lists. See the <strong><a class=\"wiki_link_ext\" href=\"http:\/\/yals.nhlibrarians.org\/book-awards\/flume\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Flume Award<\/a><\/strong> page on the YALS website for past winners, the voting form for this year&#8217;s list, and more. The <strong><a class=\"wiki_link_ext\" href=\"http:\/\/www.barringtonlibrary.com\/isinglass.asp\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Isinglass Teen Read Award<\/a><\/strong> website (hosted by Barrington Public Library) has past nominated titles, voting slips for the current year&#8217;s list, brochures, and more.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any questions, please email us at <strong><a class=\"wiki_link_ext\" href=\"http:\/\/nhlayals@gmail.com\" rel=\"nofollow\">nhlayals@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"toc0\"> Criteria for nomination<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Titles must be nominated by teens in grades 7-12, can be fiction or nonfiction books, with appeal to this age group.<\/li>\n<li>The books don&#8217;t necessarily need to be nominated by a teen outright, it can be something you know is flying off your shelves or a book that you&#8217;ve overheard a teen talking positively about.<\/li>\n<li>They must have a publication date within the last two years <strong>(no older than 2016)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If the book is part of a series, it must be able to stand alone, meaning a reader doesn&#8217;t have to read the other books in the series to understand what&#8217;s going on.<\/li>\n<li>Should not have been a nominee for other NH awards (such as GSF).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"toc1\"> How to nominate<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Go to <strong><a class=\"wiki_link_ext\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/13Gwb75I0-HhWlUoyc1IFz51PicLWOuE6MhBY55riyXY\/viewform?edit_requested=true\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Flume\/Isinglass Nominations<\/a><\/strong> form.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"toc2\"> Commenting on nominations<\/h2>\n<p> We invite you to comment on these nominations. This will help us decide which books should make the final list.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Please click on a title of a book that you wish to discuss and you will come to a discussion page.<\/li>\n<li>The title on the discussion page is linked to its NHU PAC entry, where you can see the book&#8217;s cover and read reviews if you wish.<\/li>\n<li>Click the tab that says &quot;Edit this page&quot; and begin typing your comments. After you have finished, hit &quot;Save.&quot;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Please include your name and library-if you only want to put your first name, that&#8217;s fine<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>We especially welcome your input in terms of whether you think the book will appeal to teens in grades 9-12, or 7-8, whether it appeals to boys and girls, and how it compares to other works of the same genre.<\/li>\n<li>If it is part of a series, please say whether you think the book stands alone.<\/li>\n<li>Also, <strong>please let us know if you think it should or should not be on the &quot;final 10&quot; nominated list.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <strong>2018-19 Nominations<\/strong> Each book with an <strong>F<\/strong> and<strong>\/<\/strong>or an <strong>I<\/strong> to designate whether (according to reviewing media) it appears to be most appropriate for the Flume, the Isinglass or both.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Books with &quot;needs reviews&quot; have NO librarian reviews so far.
