At the same time Angel wants to be the leader of the bird kids and ousts Max as mother figure and leader partially because Max and Fang have fallen in love and spend too much time together thereby neglecting the family. Also, Dylan shows up in this story who is a new bird kid and designed to be Max\u2019s perfect other half. Cute story, the character development, especially for Dylan \u2013 who is new to the story \u2013 is shallow \u2013 maybe because it was taken care of in earlier books. This isn\u2019t really a stand alone &#8211; I would have been more confused than I was if I hadn&#8217;t read the first book.
