Looks like this is the third installment of the Abarat series; not sure if it could stand alone…anyone read it?

I started it but didn’t finish it. Technically, it might stand alone but a reader’s enjoyment would be enchanced by reading the series. I would never suggest someone jump into this series. I wouldn’t suggest it for the list.
