FlumeAward – Augment Augment by Heather Hayden
One of my avid readers told me about this book after she connected with the author in an online writers’ group. I am skeptical of self-published books, but this is one of the best ones I’ve ever read. It’s short, but does a great job of creating a plausible, thought-provoking sci-fi world and interesting characters. Heather has completed NaNoWriMo every year since she was in middle school and came to our school to speak with our WriMos. I’d love to see her book get on the list as an inspiration to inspiring writers, but it may not quite be up to the quality of the Flume/Isinglass list?
