This really cannot stand on its own.

Max and the other bird kids fight the bad guys – this time an evil scientist who is trying to create a super race that will live through an apocalypse and who is cutting safety corners to do so. At the same time Angel wants to be the leader of the bird kids and ousts Max as mother figure and leader partially because Max and Fang have fallen in love and spend too much time together thereby neglecting the family. Also, Dylan shows up in this story who is a new bird kid and designed to be Max’s perfect other half. Cute story, the character development, especially for Dylan – who is new to the story – is shallow – maybe because it was taken care of in earlier books. This isn’t really a stand alone – I would have been more confused than I was if I hadn’t read the first book. I am not sure why, but this book appears under two titles: Fang, The Sky Is Falling
