Great series, but it appeals more to adults than teens, and to really get the full flavor of the book, you need to have read the others in the series first.

A different format than Gerritsen’s usual Rizzoli and Isles pattern, which was refreshing. Once again, there were scenes that turned my stomach.
I enjoyed the religious cult aspect of the story, and really didn’t see certain things coming, so that was refreshing, too.
Spoiler Alert
I was wondering how long she could milk the whole relationship thing between Isles and the priest, so I’m glad that’s resolved itself.
Flume Award review: Given the illicit relationship aspect of the story, I’m not sure that this is appropriate for teens, but it’s a decent mystery and suspenseful enough to grab anyone reading it, male or female. Reading the rest of the series first might help, but certainly was not necessary to the main plot. Might be more popular, due to the T.V. series.
