This was a fun novel! I believe it to be more imaginative and interesting than the Twilight insanity, and has a very different and interesting plotline. Jessica is a typical teen girl who discovers she is really part of a royal family. When she’s courted by her parents’ "intended" husband, Lucius, she resists his advances, going for the all-American guy at school. One of the things that made the book so much fun, were the letters from Lucius back to the head Vampire regarding his attempts to entice Jessica to like him. Jessica is saucy, bold, independent, and a complex and interesting character – very likable. I think teens would definitely identify with Jessica. A good one for the list…

An interesting take on the current tide of vampire books, with good humor (I, too, love the letters home!). I liked the story, but was not completely taken with it.
