Strong characters, and believable but not trite teen situations; more of a girl book than a boy book with its emphasis on relationships. Will appeal to Sarah Dessen fans. Koja packs a lot into her short books, and in this title is rich in metaphor. Older teen characters make this a good choice for the Flume, as it has most appeal for high school age readers. As for top 15, if list is heavy on younger teen titles or books for boys, a good title for high school girls that could use more attention.
