This is the final installment in the Gone series, so I’d think it wouldn’t really stand alone. Having not read them, however, I would yield to someone who has!

I know that I’ve said this many times before in previous years, but if a book is part of a series and that series is already popular with students, I prefer that the title is not added to the Flume list. Students already know the author and series and are already reading the books. I like this series, but I’d rather see another title from the list. Kelly Budd, Keene High
I’ve only read the first two, but knowing the HUGELY detailed world that Grant built (having busted through the entire Gone wiki to find out what happened, ha!) this is definitely not a stand-alone. Series was good, just got too gross for me to continue! Yeech. – Liz G. Merrimack PL.

I agree with the previous commenters. While I certainly enjoyed the book and the series as a whole, this book could not stand alone. It was a much needed conclusion to the series, however on it’s own, the reader would be lost. Becky Patten/Somersworth Middle School
