FlumeAward – Lockdown Escape from Furnace Discussion page for Lockdown: Escape from Furnace.
I listened to Lockdown, so someone else who read it might have a different perspective on the story. From the listener’s point of view, the reader was good, not great. (It wasn’t the reader that kept me hooked to this audiobook.) Lockdown is about a teenage thief, Alex Sawyer, who is set up for murder and sent to the worst possible prison imaginable. It could be me, but I like my characters to be sympathetic, so warming up to a teen thief and bully took some work on my part. However, within a few chapters we see the better side of Alex and I was able to connect with the character. The book was quite the thrill ride and I cannot wait to get my hands on the second in the series. It’d be a stretch to compare Lockdown to Hunger Games, but if you liked the thrill of Hunger Games give Lockdown a try. -Bobbi Slossar
