Mark of Athena

FlumeAward – Mark of Athena Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan

This is the 3rd in the series, and maybe too young for Flume? -Lucia Von Letkemann, Wiggin Memorial Library, Stratham 1/16/13

A wonderful book, written for an older reader than his "Percy Jackson" series. Despite this, Lucia is correct: because it is third in the series, I feel it would be a difficult book to pick up and read as a first novel. – Wally Keniston – Bruce Smith Memorial Library, Oyster River High School, Durham, NH 1/24/2013

The third book in a series, this book does not stand alone and, yes, it is a little on the young side.
Heidi Grant, Nashua North High School, 1/28/13

Although there is a lot of recapping throughout the book, and I love it, there’s not enough recapping to make this book stand alone. It relies far too much on both the first two books in this series, and the Percy Jackson series. I don’t agree that it’s too young, though, as the characters are older teens, and there’s dating and jealousy all over the place.
