FlumeAward – Nathan Fox Dangerous Times Discussion page for Nathan Fox: Dangerous Times.
This book is a great read for boys or girls. Set in Elizabethan England, with such characters as Sir Francis Walsingham and Will Shakespeare, the historical background is incidental to the story. It provides the mystery, but the story focuses on the training of Nathan Fox as a spy, and his involvement in spying against Spain. It could as easily be a James Patterson set in the present as an historical novel. The pace is fast and energetic, which will appeal to boys, but with enough historical detail to interest girls.
