FlumeAward – Nineteen Minutes Discussion page for Nineteen Minutes
This book is currently a Flume Nominee and isn’t eligible. Gail Zachariah, Keene Public Library
A very powerful look at school shootings and the kids that commit them….looks at school bullying and parental issues. As with all Picoult’s books, there is no "answer" at the end but a situation that makes you ask even more questions. A good book for older teens ready to explore issues in greater depth.
Amy Inglis, Barrington
We’ve had our AP Psych students read this as their summer reading the past two years. Great book and great discussions with it, but is it too old to be on the list? Two additional Picoult books will have been published by the time the Flume list comes out. – Kelly Budd, Keene High School
I loved this book and fought for it to be on the list last year-which it was. I think it’s a title that every high schooler should have to read. Appeal to girls as well as boys.
